Gary Kraft, J.D.

Founder, Attorney

Gary grew up in Tucson and earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Arizona and his law degree (Cum Laude) from the University of Arizona James E. Rogers College of Law where he was the Executive Note Editor for the Arizona Law Review and member of the Moot Court Board. After law school, Gary joined the business and employment litigation team of a large (100+ attorney) California law firm. He then returned to Tucson and continued litigating business and employment matters for a prominent local law firm before moving on to a career working for several federal court judges in the United States District Court in Tucson.

During his 22 years at the U.S. District Court, Gary worked closely with the district’s judges on large business and employment cases and spent significant time evaluating social security disability and prisoner habeas corpus cases. Gary was also invited to join the Editorial Board for the Ninth Circuit Judges’ Benchbook on Pretrial Criminal Proceedings, a project started by the late Hon. John M. Roll.

Gary is a long-time adjunct instructor in the Pima Community College Paralegal Program. Since 2007, he has taught a variety of classes, including legal research, corporate law, employment law, evidence and legal ethics. He is a long-time family law and guardianship volunteer for both Southern Arizona Legal Aid and Step Up To Justice. He has twice been named the SALA Outstanding Pro Bono Attorney of the Month, and for his work with SU2J’s family law clinics, was honored with the Arizona State Bar’s Top 50 Pro Bono Attorney award for 2022 and 2024.

Outside the office, Gary enjoys spending time with Kourtney and other friends and family members. He has visited 49 states, mostly on driving vacations with his sons, Cole and Carter, and with Kourtney. He enjoys staying active and has completed dozens of triathlons and road races, including two Ironman Triathlons and the Boston Marathon. He has climbed several of the highest peaks in the lower 48 states, including Mount Rainier. Gary is truly a people-person and enjoys meeting clients, learning their concerns and objectives, and then working together to attain them.

Creating an Accessible, Approachable Family Law Firm

Our goal has always been to create an accessible, approachable family law firm. We see the value in getting to know our clients and their needs, concerns, and goals. This helps us create a more solid legal plan—one that will solve problems efficiently rather than escalate them.

“I started this law firm because I saw a gap in service between high-powered, efficient law firms that were expensive and impersonal, and small, boutique law firms that did know how to provide a more personal level of client service, but still had to keep their billing high in order to make ends meet.

What I have built with my firm is one that is small and personal, but that focuses on efficiency and results as much as on building trust with clients and offering that very personal level of care and attention.” – Gary B. Kraft
